Women in history

Today I finally finished reading "Reinas Malditas", a historical book that inspired me to write, so in this post I'm going to talk about famous women in history.
These women are strong, intelligent, fighters, pioneers or borned to lead. Some of them are an exemple of survival and improvement, and I'm really proud of them.
The first women that I've chosen is Joan of Arc, she is considered heroine of France and a saint. Joan said she received visions instructing her to support Charles VII and recover France from english domination a few years late in the "Hundred year's war"
Obviously, I'll talk about famous queens like queen Isabel who unified Spain through their joint rule of Castilla and Aragón, The queen of England, Elizabeth I who was the last of the Tudor monarchs or the queen Victoria, who was the Britain's longest ruling monarch.
Who has not seen the film Pocahontas? Well, she was a Native American princess of the Powhatan tribe. She is believed to have saved the life of the leader of Jamestown Colony, tha Captain John Smith. This act and her marriage to a Jamestown colonist helped to establish peace between the Natives and the colonists, aiding in the survival of the colony.
From a current perspective I have chosen Oprah Winfrey, an American Celebrity and icon that you probably know. She started with a career in journalism and then she created her own talk show that has won numerous awards.
There are many more important women in history that I'd like to talk, like queen Ann, Catherine the Great, Abigail Adams, Scagawea, Harriet Beecher Stowe, Cleopatra, Elisabeth Carry Stanton, Susan Anthony, Clara Barton, Marie Curie, Helen Keller, Eleanor Roosevelt, Amelia Earhart, Margaret Thatcher or Ana Frank, but I think this post is already long enough so bye!

Nail art

A few months ago I discovered a new fashion activity, a creative way to decorate nails; The nail art.
Throughout time, it became a part of fashion and beauty while in history it was a part of aristocracy and determined social status. From the historical perspective, nail art was used in ancient times. It firstly emerged in Babylonia, but it was used in Egypt during the reing of Cleopatra, in China during Ming Dynasty...
Very many years later, in France in 1976, the well known French manicure emerged on Paris runways by Jeff Pink, who wanted to create nail style that would be practical and versatile.
Maybe I'm not an expert, but some people can make incledible works that I consider art. I especially love when this artists mix nail art and Disney, two things that I love. Now you are thinking nail art and Disney? That couple is so strange! Well... there are lots of people that seem to think like me and if you don't believe me, see it:
